Report a listing

If you spot a listing, message, or user that breaks our rules, tell us and we will look at it. Reports are confidential. The user you report does not see your name.

How to report

Every listing, profile, and message thread has a Report button. Tap it, pick a reason, and add any details that help us understand what is wrong. You need to be signed in so we can keep track of the report and get back to you if we need more information.

If you cannot access the report button (the listing has already been removed, you are not signed in, or the situation is urgent), email safety@prerode.com with the listing URL, the username, or a screenshot.

What to report

  • Spam or scam: a listing that is obviously fake, points off-platform, or matches a known scam pattern.
  • Stolen bike: a listing where you recognise the bike as one that has been stolen, or where the seller cannot produce a serial number or receipt.
  • Misleading description: photos do not match the item, condition is misrepresented, or a fake receipt is used to inflate value.
  • Inappropriate content: anything in a listing, profile, or message that should not be on a bike marketplace.
  • Harassment: abusive, threatening, or unwanted messages from another user.
  • Counterfeit product: replica frames or components sold as genuine (fake Fox, RockShox, SRAM, Shimano, and so on).
  • Prohibited items: anything listed on our Prohibited Items Policy, from non-compliant e-bikes to weapons.
  • Other: anything else that feels wrong. Add details and we will read them.

What we do with a report

  • Every report goes into the moderator queue and is reviewed by a person.
  • We look at the listing, the profile, the message thread if there is one, and any pattern of past reports against the same user.
  • Depending on what we find, we may add a warning to the listing, remove the listing, restrict the account, suspend the account, or permanently ban and refer the case to law enforcement.
  • You will get an in-app notification when we act on your report. We do not share details about the other user because that would breach their data-protection rights.

How long it takes

  • Safety, stolen bike, and scam reports: aim for same working day, always within 48 hours.
  • Other reports: within 5 working days.
  • Urgent physical safety threats: contact the police first on 999, then report to us so we can preserve evidence.

When to also involve the police or another authority

  • Stolen bike: report it to BikeRegister and your local police force. If you catch the theft in progress, call 999.
  • Fraud or scam attempt: Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or actionfraud.police.uk.
  • Counterfeit branded goods: tell us, and if you want to take it further, the brand owner's legal team will usually accept tip-offs on their website.
  • Threats of violence, hate speech, or content involving a child: tell us, and report to the police through 101 or online. For urgent risk, call 999.

Reporting in bad faith

Reports are a shared resource. Filing them to harass another user, to try to take out a competitor's listing, or as part of a coordinated pile-on is itself a policy breach and can lead to your own account being suspended.
